Bright Star

Music, Book & Story by Steve Martin
Music, Lyrics & Story by Edie Brickell

Bright Star is a story of loss, new love, and re-connection. Moving between the 1920's and 40's, the story follows Alice Murphy and Billy Cane as their lives unfurl in way they could never have imagined. Michigan State's production drew inspiration from the train rotundas of the South to underscore the themes of paths and lives converging. The staging featured a stage lift that was used throughout the performance.
